Best Clean Self Tanner

If you are in search of a clean self Tanner, let me personally recommend Beauty by Earth Self Tanner Tanning Lotion. By clean, I mean that this self tanning lotion has non-toxic ingredients. Many of the ingredients in this self tanning lotion are also organic.

I found this clean tanning lotion online when I was breastfeeding and needed a self tanner without toxic ingredients. This clean self tanning lotion was easy to find online, affordable and convenient to get delivered through Amazon when I was spending a lot of time at home with a baby.

Beauty by Earth Self Tanner is the only tanner I use. I specifically look for products without parabens and phthalates.

Beauty by Earth Self Tanner is "made in the USA and made without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, petroleum, triclosan, synthetic dyes and synthetic fragrances" according to their product website on Amazon. Many of the ingredients are also organic!

I use Beauty by Earth Self Tanner in "fair to medium" shade. This clean tanning lotion also comes in "medium to dark". With fair skin, I need to use a self tanner during the summer months (a little tan helps hide body imperfections during bathing suit season) and for special occasions in the winter.

As with any self tanner, it takes practice to get even color around elbows and knees (self tanning lotion tends to look darker on these joints). Use sparingly around your elbows and knees or if re-applying for a darker tan maybe skip the elbows and knees for that second layer.

Remember to wash your hands and nails well after applying. You don't want the tanner to gather under your nails or between your fingers. It takes time for the self tanner to appear, so I like to put the tanner on in the evening and wake up to a tan.
